I agree with you but I've been guilty of the same thing in the past. I've had the same thing happen to me as well and most recently, I made an introduction to someone trying to get an idea off the ground and I knew the perfect person to help them. I made the intro, never heard back how it went until I asked. Needless to say, I have another contact that could boost this person's idea even more but right now, I'm keeping it to myself.

Keep up the great work Jim and Chris...

You're not crazy. Sadly, 2 out of 3 of those people sounded like geeks, whom we know lack social skills. (Saying this as a manager of geeks)

Bootstrapping in business means starting a business without external help or capital. Such start-ups fund the development of their company through internal cash flow and are cautious with their expenses

The following survey is designed to help understand the dynamics of organizations which opt for bootstrapping in comparison to those who do not. The survey normally takes less than two minutes of your time while generating a study useful for decades to come. Please participate in the global survey in order to help us better understand your bootstrapping needs.

Survey for people who have already bootstrapped a company (successfully or unsuccessfully):

Survey for people considering bootstrapping their comany:

The thing about the speech that got me was when Obama asked for more taxes on the "fortunate." Are those the people that work hard their whole lives and become rich or the people that are lucky enough to receive handouts from the people that work?
